Utility rate are going up starting January 01, 2024

92.02 RATES FOR SERVICE.

Water service shall be furnished at the following monthly rates within the City:

(Code of Iowa, Sec. 384.84)

  1. For the first 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof – $18.30 within the City limits and $27.44 for service outside the City limits – minimum monthly charge.
  2. For each additional 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof – $7.39 per 1,000 gallons within the City limits and $10.36 per 1,000 gallons for service outside the City limits.
  3. Seasonal Water Meters shall be billed monthly from May to October using the above schedule. Seasonal Water Meters are intended for measuring water to used from outside faucets and for outside watering.
  4. Metered Hydrant Water Sales shall be billed at the following rates:
    1. For the first 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof – $27.44
    2. For each additional 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof – $10.36 per 1,000 gallons

 

SECTION 3.  SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.  If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

 

SECTION 4.  WHEN EFFECTIVE.  The amendments to Section 92.02 of this ordinance shall become effective January 1, 2024, and after final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.  All other amendments contained within this ordinance shall be in effect from and a after the ordinance’s final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
