Snow Removal Reminders
The City of Missouri Valley is reminding property owners that it is their responsibility to clean off their sidewalks within 24 hours after accumulation. The City encourages citizens to clean around mailboxes and fire hydrants that are on their property.
When shoveling, snow blowing or plowing sidewalks, driveways or parking areas, the snow should not be pushed or blown into the street, piled where it obstructs visibility at intersections for drivers or pedestrians, or where it blocks traffic signs. It is the responsibility of the property owner to haul snow piles from their property. It may be taken to the City yard waste site.
Vehicles parked on the street need to be moved within 24 hours after snowfall to clear areas so the streets can be plowed.
