Building Numbers

The City of Missouri Valley Code of Ordinances, Chapter 150.01, adopted the International Building Code. Section 304.3 requires all properties have approved address numbers on the principal building. The addresses must be clearly visible from the street so that Emergency Personnel can locate the correct property. Numbers must be not less than four (4) inches in height and a contrasting color from their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters.

If a property owner fails to comply, they will receive notice from the City in writing. The City may place the address numbers on the property and assess all costs to the property taxes.
