Announcement
The City of Missouri Valley is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Rand Community Center, effective January 2, 2026, following its generous gift to the City by the Rand Center’s Board.
The Rand Community Center has long served as a vital gathering place for local residents, with a mission to build a strong sense of community through locally based services, activities, and events. The Center provides a safe and secure environment that supports the well-being of senior citizens and all members of the community.
Under City oversight, the Rand Community Center will continue to offer valued programs for seniors, including a daily coffee group and a full calendar of weekly and monthly activities. The Center will remain available to community organizations and events, serving as a host site for Scouts, Bloodmobile drives, elections, family reunions, church functions, wedding receptions, and more.
The Rand Community Center will also continue its important role as the designated American Red Cross emergency shelter site for Harrison County.
Each year, the Center serves nearly 5,000 community members, and the City is committed to maintaining and strengthening this essential resource. This transition ensures the continued operation, safety, and growth of the Center while preserving its longstanding role as a place where community happens.
We thank the community for its ongoing support and look forward to working together to ensure the Rand Community Center remains a welcoming and inclusive space for all residents.
